[This is using XEmacs package 1.42 of AUC TeX; Uwe suggested I sent
this in.]

C-c C-e RET center RET in a .tex buffer generated:

Signaling: (void-function overlays-at)
overlays-at(1)
LaTeX-indent-line()
indent-according-to-mode()
LaTeX-insert-environment("center")
LaTeX-environment-menu("center")
LaTeX-environment(nil)
call-interactively(LaTeX-environment)

This is fixed by loading
(require 'overlay)
in init.el

Emacs : XEmacs 21.4 (patch 13) "Rational FORTRAN" [Lucid]

Package: AUCTeX CVS-1.10

This is a workaround. The real fix is to upgrade to AUCTeX 11.55
(which corresponds to the XEmacs AUCTeX package 1.46 currently in
pre-release).
